Padma Pujitha Foundation collaboration with Padala Charitable Trust
Padala Charitable Trust (PCT) has always considered the collaboration with Padma Pujitha Foundation (PPF) as a milestone Padma Pujitha Foundation (PPF) is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of the private limited company Padma Pujitha Auto Finance, Visakhapatnam. The 5 years of bond between PPF and PCT is only growing stronger and deeper, with an aim to touch more and more lives. Since 2016, we together have done many developmental activities pertaining to school and college education. Projects
Vaaradhi
Project Vaaradhi selects children who are orphans or semi orphans from rural/urban government schools. It is designed to empower this section of underprivileged children by providing 360° care until they complete education. Every year, an enrolled student will get a school bag, stationery, a pair of casual wear. Regular health check ups will be done and complaints if any, will be thoroughly followed up. Necessary medicines, nutritional supplements and treatment will be provided at free of cost. Motivation and skill development workshops, Awareness workshops related to career and adolescence issues will also be regularly conducted.
With the financial support from PPF, PCT has been able to reach 75 most needy school going children in 7 government schools of Ganapavaram mandal, West Godavari district.
SSS (SET, Sethu, Swechha)
SSS (SET, Sethu, Swechha) Project is a flagship project of PCT. It is intended to train school and college students regarding Life skills, Career guidance and Adolescent Health Education.
We have reached over 1200 students of 14 government schools, in 2 Mandals Ganapavaram (West Godavari Dist.) and Rambilli (Visakhapatnam Dist.)
Distribution of sanitary pads
We firmly believe that, access to hygienic menstrual products should not be a privilege but a basic right of all the menstruating women.
Padala Charitable Trust (PCT) has been conducting Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) programmes in several government schools for the past several years. During our sessions we have noticed that due to many taboos around menstruation, sanitary pads usage has been very low among the adolescent girls. To encourage the practice of hygienic menstrual practices and also to break taboo around it, we usually provide sanitary pads to the adolescent girl children in government schools along with awareness workshops.
PPF & PCT jointly took care of the sanitary pad requirements of over 200 children for 2 years continuously. This initiative was done in 6 government high schools of Rambilli Mandal, Visakhapatnam district.
CLAY – Career Guidance and Life skills Assistance to Youth
A 3-year MoU was signed between PPF, PCT & S.CH.V.P.M degree college, Ganapavaram for conducting life skills and career guidance workshops for 3 academic years (2019 – 2022) in the degree college. The project was named C.L.A.Y – Career guidance & Life skills Assistance to Youth.
Objectives:
- Imparting & Improving ten core life skills prescribed by UNESCO.
- Providing continuous & personalized career guidance to every student.
- Connecting students to the society through volunteerism, with an aim to improve leadership qualities & life skills.
- Improving employability skills by helping them organize Book Clubs.
